It’s so nice when the weather is good and we can cook outdoors. Although most of us find grilling is easy, we sometimes need inspiration to cook other things outdoors and use the smoker or other means rather than the grill. Anyone wanting some good ideas will want to pick up Gas Fire Heat: Essential Recipes and Secrets for Cooking Outdoors, by Aly Romero.
This excellent cookbook includes dozens of ideas that are outside the box. Romero’s ideas are doable and absolutely mouthwatering. The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions to insure perfect results. In addition, most of the recipes come with beautiful, professional photographs which makes it difficult to decide what to make next.

The dishes are gathered from regions all over the world with flavors of Mexico, Hawaii, India, Asia, regional America, and others. There are helpful comments at the beginning of each recipe that include hints, background, and vignettes pertaining to the recipes. She outlines different ways to cook outdoors, including BBQ, grilling, smoking, and griddling. Almost anything goes.

I love reading this cookbook, but especially love cooking from it. Every time I pick it up, I find something new I want to make. All told, this is an excellent cookbook that everyone will enjoy.
